(ERASMUS-) Studies abroad

A study period abroad is not obligatory for sports students, but is recommended in principle. In addition to the independent organisation of a study abroad, the Institute of Sport Science offers opportunities for ERASMUS studies in particular.

What is ERASMUS?

Socrates is the European Union's action programme for cross-border cooperation in education. Among other things, SOCRATES promotes higher education (ERASMUS) and general school education (COMENIUS). The aim is to intensify higher education cooperation in Europe. Initially, the programme only applied to EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, but it has since been extended to most of the candidate countries.

What does an exchange in the ERASMUS programme offer?

  • You do not have to pay tuition fees
  • You will receive a monthly stipend
  • Certificates of achievement are recognised
  • You can expect an interesting and broad range of studies

Where is ERASMUS study currently possible for sports students from Hannover?

Our Sports Institute currently has cooperation agreements with universities in Krakow, Warsaw, Coimbra, Florence, Las Palmas, Seville and Prague. There is a mutual exchange of students and teachers with these partner universities.

Who is the contact person for students of the Institute of Sport Science?

If you are interested in studying abroad, please visit the Erasmus office early (about a year in advance). The consultation hour takes place only after registration by email.
