A Side Note on Wheelchair Basketball

As part of the seminar “Capacity for Action and Inclusion – Practical Testing and Theoretical Reflection,” Philip Schorp, a Bundesliga player and Paralympic wheelchair basketball athlete, made several guest appearances. On May 21, he provided fascinating insights into his daily life in general, as well as into the life of a para-athlete.

On June 6, the seminar content was explored in greater depth during a joint practical session. Under Philip Schorp’s guidance, the seminar participants gained their own experience with wheelchair basketball and were able to directly experience the possibilities of inclusive physical activity programs. The combination of personal interaction, hands-on experience, and theoretical reflection opened up new perspectives for the future physical education teachers on inclusion and the design of participation-oriented physical education classes.
